Open Mind, Wise Heart: Mindfulness Meditation in Practice

The practice of mindfulness can be transformative for both emotional and physical issues.  Jennifer, a clinical counsellor, has developed this program of focused practice to include meditation, support for establishing a daily practice (incl. CDs and handouts), inquiry exercises to enhance awareness, discussion and home assignments.

WORKSHOP Lovingkindness in Action: Personal and Social Engagement

While mindfulness is the practice of being fully present in the moment, lovingkindness is both the attitude of friendliness we bring to mindfulness and a meditation itself. This heart-mind approach nurtures our engagement in daily life. Be introduced to lovingkindness and mindfulness practices and discuss their application in our lives and work.

Jennifer Keane and Jeanne Corrigal are members of the Saskatoon Buddhist Insight meditation community, and between them they have practiced meditation for over 25 years. Jennifer is a therapist in private practice and Jeanne, a Life Skills Coach Trainer.

Jennifer Keane is a psychotherapist in Saskatoon who specializes in the field of disordered eating, anxiety, relationship and life transitions.  A meditation practitioner for fifteen years, Jennifer teaches meditation classes and integrates meditation and Buddhist psychology in her therapeutic practice.

 

 

 

A taste of Tai Chi, Donna Lindsay

Donna's introductory class focuses on qigong movements, breathing exercises, and the Yang Style 24 Form.  Meditation is an integral part of the class for maximizing the stress relief benefits of Tai Chi.

Obsession Sessions Part 2: The Revision Sessions

How does a poem come to be? When do jottings, notes, ideas and impulses turn into finely tuned lines, resonant metaphors? When is a poem ever finished? Through various writing and rewriting exercises, discussions and readings, participants will discover and rediscover the language of their obsessions through the revision process, where the real writing begins.

Jennifer Still's first book of poetry, Saltations (Thistledown Press, 2005), was nominated for three Saskatchewan Book Awards.  She is cofounder of the literary chapbook publisher JackPine Press.

Baby Sign Language Classes for Baby,

Toddlers, and Preschoolers

 

Share your baby sign language learning experience with other moms in a supportive environment.  150 ASL signs taught as well as

songs to sign and sing to your baby!  Discuss language strategies and early literacy skills.  Class size limited.

Roz graduated in 2004 from the U of S with a B. Sc. in Kinesiology and has worked as an exercise therapist/instructor.  Through her studies, Roz learned basic ASL signs working with children with developmental delays.  After the birth of her daughter, she became interested in baby sign language and joined the WeeHands team in 2006.
