Traditional & Free Motion Machine Quilting - This class will cover the basics of machine quilting with an emphasis on free-motion quilting. Thread, needles, batting, basic free-motion quilting designs, and tips for stress free machine quilting will be covered. Level: Confident beginner

Log Cabin Runner – Construction of the traditional log cabin block, quilt design, ¼ inch accuracy & tailgate piecing are the focus of this class while making this attractive table runner. Prerequisite: knowledge of rotary cutting and ¼ inch seam.

Finish That Quilt - This class, as part of the learn to quilt modules, will help you finish those tops you have been making. This class will introduce and demonstrate simple and more complex border applications (including colour choice, width and number of borders), choice of backing, techniques for binding and finishing. Foundation Paper Piecing Part I – This technique is a fast, easy & accurate method to construct complex blocks. Preprinted patterns will be supplied. Suitable for beginners.

Curved Log Cabin - This class will take you through the process of cutting curves from straight pieces.
Creating curves will open up a lot of possibilities and add variety to your quilting projects.

Whimsical Aquarium - This class includes learning another one of Ricky Tims’ simple techniques – the curved convergence. You will make the curved background and then raw-edge appliqué all sorts of underwater characters to make a fun and whimsical aquarium.
Level: Intermediate (Some experience with free motion quilting is required to complete this project.) Kit fee: $5.00 (optional if you do not have enough fish fabric).

New Finding Time, Finding Stories and Finding Your Voice ,

Have you always wanted to start writing but never known how to begin?Have you been writing for a while but never know what to do with the words once they were on the page? Have you the urge to write but no idea how to find ideas? Have you ideas but no idea how to get them to work for you? Have you got pages stuffed into drawers at home and no clear sense of what to do with them?
Author Alice Kuipers will be running a six week session for new and emerging writers to give them guidance, feedback, and time to find their voice. Using exercises, group and individual critique, the sessions will build on each other to help writers find new stories and improve the stories they already have. A guest editor will come to the last session to give the class ideas about how to send their work out, with dos and don'ts for cover letters.

Picture Yourself: an Art Self - Exploration, David Beaudemont
Art therapy is a non-intrusive self-exploration method based on the natural relationship between art and mind. Participants will have the chance to explore their personal world of symbols in a playful manner, through alternating games and individual art making. The facilitator with act both as a participant and a group leader, monitoring everyone's comfort level at all times. Participants will also have the chance to discover and test easy-to-use techniques such as visualization, narratives, psychodrama and Gestalt. No artistic talent required.
David Beaudemont is a professionally trained art therapist. He has a Ph.D. in science and has a Master-level Diploma in Art Therapy recognized by the Canadian Art Therapy Association (CATA). He is currently working with adolescents, children and adults with disbilities and young artists "at risk". He is also an award-winning fiction writer with more than 10 years of experience in facilitating creative writing workshops.

Within the framework of verses, stories, songs and music, the class is designed to guide the child’s understanding of her/his body and to nurture movement exploration and language development.
