All revenue produced by Refinery programs, events and rentals remains within the organization to maintain and develop the facility and employ Refinery staff.  The Refinery accepts private and corporate donations (tax deductible).

 

A brief history

THE REFINERY IS LOCATED IN ST. JAMES' OLD PARISH HALL IN THE HEART OF NUTANA.

1997 St. James' Anglican celebrates it's 95th Anniversary

renews it's emphasis on being an outward focused
parish and commits to seeking opportunities to be
an active participant in the community

The Refiner's Choir, made up of community and St.James'
members, begins
1999 St. James' members decide to use the Parish Hall for community programming. 
Their goal is to expand spiritual learning and opportunities for expression:  to
develop an inclusive, holistic, spiritual space.

St.James' begins working in partnership with groups and communities to develop
the space and activities.

The Parish Hall is named The Refinery Arts and Spirit Centre: a place for refinement of people.
